Waterloo Gardens

About Waterloo Gardens

Close to Roath Church in Cardiff, Waterloo Gardens has been a cherished green space for over a century. Officially named in 1907, the gardens opened in 1910.

Flood prevention efforts in the 1930s and a major defence project completed in 2018 have preserved its beauty.

Today, Waterloo Gardens offers a peaceful retreat, blending historical charm with natural serenity. These measures ensure the park’s sustainability, including a second channel for the brook and a pumping station.

The park is also maintained by Friends of Penylan Gardens.
